Line Officer of the Year 2004

Mike Ehrlich
Occasionally you come across someone who is uniquely gifted for a certain purpose in life. Such is the case with Drug Court Case manager Mike Ehrlich, who has been a probation officer since 1987. Mike's experience in addiction and recovery, coupled with his giving personality and genuine concern for others, uniquely qualifies him to work with this specialized population. Each graduation, many of those completing the program attribute their success and recovery to having Mike as their case manager. In a recent graduation, all twelve of his program graduates had not tested positive, even once, while in the year-long program.
One graduate remarked, "I really give a lot of the credit to my probation officer, Mike Ehrlich, for helping me get this far in my recovery. In my opinion, he is truly the best probation officer in Yuma County." This graduate had just given birth to a drug-free baby. Mike is changing the lives of those addicted to drugs one success story after another. He is earning the confidence and trust of those involved in the criminal justice system. When Mike ends his career in probation, he can look back knowing that he has made a difference and touched the lives of many.
